As a parent and former teacher, I know how difficult it can be to teach. I have found in Armen an amazingly patient and extremely talented Piano Teacher. Our children are so very fortunate to have him as their piano teacher. My son started playing piano when he was five, but when he was ten he was in an accident and had all four fingers on his left hand amputated. The Hand Surgeon was able to re-attach his ring finger and he was left with a small portion of his index finger, but we thought he would never play piano again. Armen has worked with him over the past two years to adapt songs for my son so that he may continue playing piano. Nowadays when my son plays, nobody even realizes his unique playing ability which is a true indicator of what a wonderful Piano Teacher he has. I started piano lessons with Armen on April 1st of 2022. At the time I had no idea what to expect of the lessons. It’s been almost a year since my very first lesson and I cannot believe how much my skills have improved. I have learned pieces that I would have never imagined I could play and I have had a lot of fun doing it. Armen is an extraordinarily talented teacher. He is both inspiring and patient. Everyone is astonished that I am not bored to tears by practicing scales the whole time. In fact I am so proud to say that I can actually play a short piece by Mozart after only 8 lessons. I read the music, and I play by memory too. He coaches me softly and diligently to work through my “stuck” moments. I am a very busy 65 year old lawyer who has never played the piano in her life and I fell very pleased with my progress. Piano playing is difficult as is reading music but I love the time I spend with Armen and I am delighted with the progress I have made.
